This bright source, smaller than our own solar system, produces all the emission seen here. The peculiar shape is caused by the Very Large Array (VLA) radio telescope near Socorro, New Mexico, which consists of 27 antennae and does not have equal resolution in all directions of the sky. For SS433, the VLA produces an elliptical pattern for all point sources it detects.
